About

Hello and welcome!

Maybe you are wondering why this sites name is WindowsWiki even though it is not a wiki.

When I got the domain windowswiki.info in early 2007 I wanted to create something similar to ClassicBeta in the first place. I started work on it, but lost my desire soon after. Due to the fact the BetaArchive Wiki slowly established in late 2007/early 2008, I scrapped the idea of creating a wiki, but kept my domain.

Over the course of 2007 I hosted several Windows-related projects, forums and some other stuff, but I didn’t had a personal website or blog. The main reason for this was the lack of ideas. After experimenting with different content management systems, writing my own prototype CMS in late 2007 and creating a bunch of prototype designs in the first half of 2008 (see prototype 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), I decided for using WordPress along with a custom-made theme and finally started blogging in July 2008.

That first blogs focus were newly released Microsoft products and their prereleases. You can read its posts here: http://www.windowswiki.info/old/

In February 2009 I decided to refocus and launched the second incarnation of my blog you are seeing today.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you like it.

About

Don't get confused by the name — this site is not a wiki, but my personal blog on which I post about projects I am working on or I have finished, about Windows-related stuff and other things I fiddle around with.
